Both Nokia and HTC can say that had better days. These two tech giants had been the leaders of the market however now they're going through quite a lot of issues and are in hassle as a result of fairly poor sale ends in last few quarters and even longer. We're delivering the low to mid vary supply comparison between HTC First and Nokia Lumia 520.
Both
devices come with a pretty affordable and budget friendly price tag.
Lumia 520 with Windows Phone 8 can be bought for 99 GBP while we expect
to see HTC First to be available for around 100 GBP.
Design and
materials used to create body of Nokia’s cell phone is pretty good, you
will have the feel that you are using significantly expensive device.
Since this is a more budget friendly device it will be delivered to
larger number of younger users and the colors in which it will be
available are certainly an advantage over the competition. Design is
totally different for HTC First and we are getting pretty rounded device
without sharp edges. Build quality is on a pretty high level and
polycarbonate used is similar to what we were able to see on flagship
devices like One X.
In the display segment we have a decent
smartphones. HTC First offers slightly larger diagonal of 4.3 inch
compared to 4.0 inch display on Lumia 520. Resolution is also higher and
we are getting 1280 x 720 pixels that translates to 342 ppi of pixel
density over 800 x 480 pixels that is 223 ppi of pixel density.
When
it comes to hardware these are pretty similar devices and both are
powered by Qualcomm chipsets.
In HTC First we are getting Snapdragon 400
with dual core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz which is paired with Adreno
305 GPU and 1 GB of RAM. Nokia decided to offer Snapdragon S4 chipset
with dual core clocked at 1 GHz which is paired with Adreno 305 GPU and
512 MB of RAM. On the paper HTC has advantage but both devices offer
great performances and most users will be quite satisfied.
Among
other features we need to mention that both cell phones have 5 megapixel
main camera and one of the advantages for HTC is that it delivers LED
flash. HTC also offers 1.6 MP front facing unit and it can create 1080p
video recordings with the main camera while Nokia offers 720p only.
Even
HTC offers more internal storage 16 GB over 8 GB that we are getting
from Lumia 520 we need to say that Nokia did provide microSD card slot
for storage expansion while this is not possible with HTC. Most users
will find that 16 GB is enough but still it is nice to have possibility
to expand.
Battery capacity of 1430 mAh should be enough for
entire day of intense usage when it comes to Nokia Lumia 520. In the
case of HTC First we have a 2000 mAh battery but we also have faster
processor and larger display so these two devices should provide similar
experience.
